Pre-K Information

 

We are so pleased that we have the opportunity to expand the program.   Deciding where to send your child to preschool can sometimes be confusing. Please keep in mind the following information about our PreK in your decision process. We offer the following:

 

  • Certified Master Level Teachers
  • Paraprofessional support
  • Access to Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, School Nurse, and Guidance Counselor
  • A scientifically researched curriculum titled Tools of the Mind which promotes self regulation, literacy, and language development
  • Participation in Physical Education and Music classes, as well as access to the School Library
  • Familiarity with the school community and building which promotes smoother transitions to kindergarten

Mendon-Upton Pre-K Registration and Open House

 

We are Expanding the Program!!!!

 

Registration for the Mendon – Upton Integrated Pre-K Lottery will be the week of January 25- 29, 2010.  To be in the lottery Pre-k children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before August 31, 2009, toilet trained, and have no special needs. Parents must be able to provide their own transportation and the children must be residents of Mendon or Upton.

The Memorial Elementary Pre-K Open House in Upton will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on January 22, 2010.  The Clough Elementary Pre-K Open House in Mendon will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the same day. Anyone interested in the Pre-K program is welcome to visit with their child on that day.

Registration tickets will be available at both school offices in Mendon and Upton.  The deadline for lottery registration is Friday, January 29, 2010 at 3p.m.  The lottery will be drawn on February 5, 2010.  If your child is chosen, he or she will then be screened for placement. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year will be held in February.  To enter Kindergarten in the fall, your child must be five years old on or before August 31, 2010.  H.P. Clough in Mendon and MemorialSchool in Upton will hold informational evening meetings for parents of students entering Kindergarten.   The district offers Regular, Full Day, Extended Day, and Spanish Immersion Kindergarten.  All of these options will be discussed at the informational meeting; there will be time for questions and answers, and registration packets will be available.  If you are unable to attend the informational meeting, please stop into the school office to pick up a registration packet and make an appointment to come in and register your child. Packets will be available beginning on January 4, 2010.   Children do not need to be present at registration.  Proof of residence, birth certificate and immunization records are required at registration.

In Mendon, the informational evening will be held on Tuesday, February 9 , 2010, at the H.P.CloughSchool cafeteria at 6:30pm.   Kindergarten registration will be held on Thursday and Friday,  February 11 and 12, 2010.

In Upton, the Informational Meeting will be held on Monday, February 1 in the Memorial School Cafeteria  at 6:00 pm.  Kindergarten registration will be on February 9 and 10, 20010.
